About the Retreat Leaders:
Karen is a Brooklyn based RYT 500 and certified yoga therapist. She believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. Her passion is a dedication to community growth and healing through mindfulness in the educational system.
She believes in utilizing the tools of yoga and meditation to nurture students’ intrinsic motivation to be curious, as curiosity of self is the gateway to understanding our own suffering and blockages that hinder us from living our truth. Her yoga sessions create opportunities to explore a deeper sense of Self and body awareness, instilling the skills of emotional resilience and self-reliance. Karen provides a nurturing positive environment for healing with a compassionate non-judgemental presence. She draws from a toolbox of knowledge based on her certifications in yoga therapy, yin, restorative, prenatal, vinyasa, meditation, aerial and children’s yoga. The focus of her work includes stress management, personal empowerment, anxiety, ADHD, emotional resilience, musculoskeletal imbalances, dementia, and lifestyle adaptations in populations ranging from 5 to 105.
Beautifully furnished with unique antiques from India, Casa Om sits on 60 picturesque acres looking out at the Potomac in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
